Who shares: Kim's phone and each pacer's phone, only while their tracking app is on: a location after about every 500 m on the trail, plus a note when they arrive at or leave an aid station (100 m zone). Kim's inReach satellite tracker may add a location every few minutes. When no update is coming in, the site estimates Kim's position from her pace until one arrives.
When it's recorded: Sat Nov 7, 3:00 AM – Sun Nov 8, 12:00 PM. The server ignores anything sent outside that window.
Who can see it: anyone with this link from Sat 4:00 AM to Sun noon. Outside that window, only crew with the passcode.
When it's deleted: automatically on Tue Nov 10 at noon. Nothing is kept after that.
Where it's stored: the crew's own Supabase database, not a tracking company.

Differences from the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet uses older mileage (100.5 mi total); this page uses the 2026 chart (100.0 mi). "Negro Bar" in the spreadsheet is now Black Miners Bar. The official return cutoff at Overlook is 4:20 AM (spreadsheet: 4:05 AM), and there is also a 10:55 PM cutoff at Auburn Lake Trails.

Clock. Daylight saving ends Nov 1, so the whole race runs on PST. Sunset Sat ≈ 4:57 PM (dark by ≈ 5:25 PM); first light Sun ≈ 6:11 AM, sunrise ≈ 6:39 AM. No moon overnight: a 2% crescent sets 3:49 PM Sat and rises 6:13 AM Sun. Cutoffs are for leaving the aid station. Per-segment climb figures come from the GPX and run a little under the race's official 13,458 ft. Trekking poles are allowed from Overlook (mile 44) to the finish.
